MOSCOW, July 3 - RAPSI. The Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI) has won the annual Consumer Rights and Quality of Service prize in the special Media for Consumers nomination.

RAPSI has been commended for providing an all-round coverage of issues pertaining to consumer rights protection.

"Protection of people's rights and compliance with the law promotion is a priority for RAPSI," the agency's Editor-in-Chief Oleg Yefrosinyin said.

This is the third year the prestigious prize has been awarded. It gives recognition to those companies which display a responsible attitude toward consumer rights and deserve consumers' confidence.

The awards ceremony was timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the federal Consumer Rights Law and was held on Tuesday at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Retailers Association, the Consumer Market Participants Union and the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications.

The Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI) was founded on Feb. 10, 2009 in coordination with the Russian Constitutional Court, Russian Supreme Court, Russian Supreme Commercial Court and RIA Novosti News Agency. Transparency and openness of the Russian legal system and promotion of legal reforms in Russia are the key objectives of the agency.
