MOSCOW, March 26 - RAPSI. Last year investigators received over 78,000 complaints about the conduct of law enforcement officers and launched more than 4,000 criminal cases, the Investigative Committee Inspection Department head Anatoly Korotkov said at a Civic Chamber meeting on Monday.

"I can say that in 2011 the committee had 78,000 complaints from the public about the officers' conduct. In 64,000 cases, we decided not to begin prosecution. We referred 4,000 complaints to local investigators and initiated over 4,000 criminal cases," Korotkov noted.

He added that the committee reacts to practically all communications related to law enforcement authorities operations.
