Tymoshenko's sentence to hinder integration into Europe - Ukrainian president
KIEV, October 11 - RAPSI. The sentence given to former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will hinder the country's integration with Europe, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich said on Tuesday.
"This (Tymoshenko's sentence) is, no doubt, a deplorable fact preventing Ukraine's integration with Europe today," Yanukovich said referring to the judgment.
However, the president noted that the decision is not final.
A Kiev district court sentenced Tymoshenko to seven years in prison for abuse of power on Tuesday in connection with her signing gas contracts between Ukrainian Naftogaz and Russian Gazprom in 2009.
