Prosecutor's Office uncovers 1,500 offences in Moscow Region land distribution
MOSCOW, August 25 - RAPSI. Moscow Region Prosecutor Alexander Anikin is concerned about illegal property distribution in the region.
"The Prosecutor's Office has uncovered numerous offenses in property distribution transactions committed by local governments in the Moscow Region," Anikin said at an interdepartmental meeting on land law in the Moscow Region. The land grant procedures in Moscow Region are often ineffective, unfair and non- transparent, he said.
"Thus the local authorities are infringing on the rights of individuals and legal bodies in terms of property purchases and property use, and are also infringing on state and municipal property owner interests who fail to receive adequate revenue from property tenders," Anikin said.
The Moscow Region Prosecutor's Office has uncovered a total of 1,500 property transaction law offenses in the first six months of 2011. The investigative authorities have opened seven criminal cases.
