MOSCOW, August 24 - RAPSI. The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Areas prosecutor has endorsed the indictment of the suspect in the theft of 6.45 million rubles ($230,000) that were earmarked for judges salary, the Prosecutor Generals Office reported on Wednesday, without specifying the indictment date.

According to the Office, the former senior specialist of the Area's court, Galina Sumarokova, knowingly entered false date into financial documents from 2005 until 2008. By doing so, she was able to steal budgetary funds designated for salary payments to judges and other employees, as well as for jury compensation.

Sumarokova has been charged with especially large-scale theft by a group in collusion, using official status, which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
