Interior Minister may be interrogated in Moscow riots case
MOSCOW, August 18 - RAPSI, Irina Tumilovich. A suspect in the case of the mass riots in Moscow last December asked for Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev to be summoned to court, defense attorney Dmitry Agranovsky told the Russian Legal Information Agency.
Suspect Ruslan Khubayev requested the interrogation of Vladimir Kolokoltsev, the head of the Moscow police, as well.
The Tverskoy District Court in Moscow will respond on August 25.
According to the investigation, as many as 5,000 football fans and nationalists caused public disorder on December 11, 2010 after a rally to commemorate the memory of FC Spartak fan Yegor Sviridov, who was shot dead on December 6, 2010. Thirty-two people were injured.
Law enforcement authorities opened tens of criminal proceedings against the rioters.
