ST. PETERSBURG, May 18 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) — The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation will create a special expert commission in the near future, which will evaluate problems arising in the activities of non-profit organizations (NPOs), Deputy Minister of Justice Oleg Sviridenko has said at the masterclass on the implementation of NPO legislation organized by the body at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPBILF) 9¾.

The expert commission, the members of which will include representatives of socially oriented nonprofits, is to be established at the Department of Non-Profit Organizations of the Justice Ministry.

It is planned that conclusions of the commission taking into consideration opinions of representatives of the civil society are to be used for development of certain practical recommendations on many controversial issues of NPO legislation; the respective documents will be published on the website of the Justice Ministry following the Australian practices, Sviridenko explained.

He also reminded that this year the Justice Ministry will develop the concept of improving the corporate governance in non-commercial organizations, improve the legislation on the logos of non-profit organizations and to work on regulating the activities of the non-profit sector, as well as other persons performing the functions of a foreign agent.
