MOSCOW, January 26 (RAPSI) – The Government Law-Making Commission has backed a draft law envisaging fines for hiding information on technogenic accidents dangerours for environment,  Chair of the Association of Russian Lawyers Vladimir Gruzdev has told RAPSI.

Amendments to the Russian Code on Administrative Offences are aimed to improve the efficiency of the state bodies’ actions protecting people from emergencies.

Under the bill, not only officials but organizations as well will be responsible for hiding industrial disaster data and distribution of fake information concerning protection of citizens and territories from the disaster emergencies. 

Thus, organizations will face fines from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles ($1,300 – 2,700) for such offences, Gruzdev pointed.
