MOSCOW, October 12 (RAPSI) – Members of the governmental lawmaking commission on Monday anonymously supported a bill on regional ombudsmen, the press service of Russia’s High Commissioner for Human Rights Tatiana Moskalkova reported.

Amendments drafted by the Federal Ombudsman’s Office, State Duma lawmakers and Federation Council members are proposed to the Federal Act On general principles for the organization of legislative representative and executive agencies of State power in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The initiative is to reconcile its provisions on regional Ombudsmen and those of the law on regional ombudsmen, according to an explanatory note to the document.

In late September, the State Duma passed the draft law in the first reading.
