MOSCOW, October 1 (RAPSI) – President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed a bill specifying the order of the administrative supervision over people sentenced to community service into law. The document’s version has been published on the official website of legal information.

Amendments will be introduced to the law on the administrative supervision of persons released from custody.

Under the signed legislation, if an unserved part of prison sentence is replaced with community service, the administrative supervision begins from the date of serving the community service. In the case of sentencing a person under supervision to community service, the running of the time period is suspended.

The law also extends the list of reasons for the administrative supervision prolongation by court adding such reasons as non-custodial or suspended conviction of a person under surveillance.

The initiative was adopted by the State Duma on September 19; the Federation Council approved it on September 25.
