MOSCOW, September 12 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Interior Ministry is developing a bill on simplified procedure of granting citizenship to foreign graduates of Russian higher educational institutions, according to a notification released on the federal website of draft laws and regulations.

According to the ministry, currently such foreigners have a right to Russian citizenship if they have a residence permit and at least a 3-year employment history in the country.

Amendments are proposed to laws on citizenship and legal status of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation.

The document will come into force in December 2020 if adopted.
