MOSCOW, June 18 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner Tatiana Moskalkova has proposed to delete food poppy from the list of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.

According to the ombudsman, a lot of people suffered for selling food poppy that is not a socially dangerous act. However, firm heads sold salable poppy, but examinations showed that it contained straws; and people received serious sentence for it.

Moskalkova and her office are currently developing a bill to amend the Criminal Code’s Article on illegal acquisition, storage, producing of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
