MOSCOW, July 30 (RAPSI) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has singed into a law a bill amending the Russian legislation as to make audio recording of court hearings in civil and criminal cases mandatory, the official website of legal information reads on Monday.

According to the new law authored by President Putin, in case of inaccuracy or incompleteness of these recordings there is an option to file an appeal.

Other changes in the legislation include clarification of a judge assistant’s procedural role and a new option for a court to move from preliminary hearings in civil and commercial cases to the main hearings if there are no circumstances preventing this transition.

In addition, the law envisages use of automated information system that should prevent litigants from being able to influence the allocation of court cases to certain judges.

The law is to enter into force on September 1, 2019.
