MOSCOW, November 3 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development has drafted a bill limiting the number of unscheduled inspections of businesses.

The document has been published on the federal website of legal acts for public discussion.

Amendments are proposed to the law on rights protection of companies and businessmen during the state and municipal supervision.

The bill fixes the limited number of random checks approved by regulatory bodies, an explanatory note to the document reads. The limit of audits will be determined by chairs of control bodies annually in accordance with the requirements set by Russia’s government or in certain cases by the President.

Under the draft law, the limit of inspections may not exceed 30% of average number of scheduled checks conducted in a certain field over the previous three years. Timing of unscheduled inspections is to be reduced to 10 working days.
The legislation would take effect on January 1, 2019, if adopted.
