MOSCOW, October 31 (RAPSI) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a bill authorizing court bailiffs to arrest alimony debtors in order to draw up an administrative protocol into law, according to the document published on the official website of legal information.

Moreover, bailiffs would be able to apprehend employable persons of majority age, who failed to render financial support to their unemployable parents.

Previously, court bailiffs could not take such actions as administrative arrest and delivery of a debtor for alimony. They were to apply for police officers’ assistance in these cases that slowed down administrative proceedings and complicated the institution of an administrative action against debtors.

The law would amend Russia’s Code of Administrative Offences.
