Russian ministry proposes to restrict foreign ownership of traffic exchange points
MOSCOW, August 17 (RAPSI) – The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media has proposed to limit foreign ownership of traffic exchange points in Russia as part of amendments to the law on communications published on the official website of legal information for public discussion.
The bill reads that foreign states companies and citizens can’t control more than 20% of traffic exchange point’s shares. Authors of the bill propose to apply the same restrictions for international organizations, people without citizenship, Russian companies, if they are owned by foreign entity by more than 20%, and Russian citizens if they have citizenship of another state.
