MOSCOW, July 10 (RAPSI) – Russia’s government has submitted a bill on the order of considering cases on transport safety offences to the State Duma, according to the statement published on the Cabinet’s website on Monday.

The bill drafted by the Interior Ministry would authorize law enforcement officers to consider cases concerning violations of transport security and make reports on repeated and intended offenses in this field.

In particular, the draft law would give such powers to chiefs and deputy chiefs of law enforcement agencies’ territorial directorates, police and transport police officers.

Amendments are proposed to the Administrative Offences Code of the Russian Federation.

Currently, only agencies engaged in control and supervision in the spheres of transport, aviation and air space management are authorized to examine cases on these administrative offences.
