MOSCOW, June 2 (RAPSI, Oleg Sivozhelezov) – Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Friday that a package of proposals for improvement of the country’s judicial system had been agreed.

The given initiatives have been drafted and discussed involving experts and the Supreme Court’s senior staff, Putin added.

Strengthening of judges’ independence, improvement of court personnel training, optimization of judicial proceedings, and lowering of unreasonable judges’ working load were defined as main directions for the development of Russia’s judicial system. The adoption of measures aimed to ease the situation in these fields will give supplementary guarantees for objective and fair legal proceedings, according to the President.
