MOSCOW, November 21 (RAPSI) – Russia’s State Duma will review an agreement regarding organization of joint investigative teams in the territory of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), an announcement published on the lower house of parliament’s website reads on Monday.

The agreement was signed on October 16 of 2015 at a summit of CIS countries’ leaders. The document is envisaged to regulate relations between the member-states regarding the activities of joint teams formed to investigate interrelated crimes across borders.

Since the agreement introduces rules different from those set in the Russian legislation, it is to be ratified by the State Duma. It is noted that if other international treaty signed by Russia establishes less favorable conditions for cooperation than those provided in the agreement, Russia will follow the agreement’s rules on the principle of mutuality.
