MOSCOW, July 14 (RAPSI) – Russian government has approved and submitted a bill to the State Duma that would authorize the Ministry of Communications and Media to set a procedure of state control and supervision over compliance of personal data processing with law, the Cabinet’s official website announced on Thursday.

According to an explanatory to the bill, the legislation is aimed at removal of legal uncertainties about an agency responsible for adoption of a procedure of state control and supervision over personal data processing’s conforming to legislative requirements.

Amendments are proposed to the law “On protection of rights of companies and businessmen during carrying out state verification (supervision) and municipal control.”
