MOSCOW, October 16 - RAPSI. The law on industrial safety should be amended to prevent unnecessary business inspections, while control over hazardous production facilities must be enhanced, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a government expert council meeting.

He emphasized that “the need for relevant legislative amendments arose long ago because the present document was prepared way back in 1997.”

“I hope we will be able to draft a document that will promote innovation, raise the production level and meet modern standards in terms of reliability and safety,” Medvedev said.

“It is also important to relieve businesses of immense loads,” he said, referring to the current safety regulations.
