MOSCOW, August 25 (RAPSI) – A court has sentenced the former first deputy of the Far Eastern Directorate of the Federal Customs Service Sergey Fedorov to 12 years in prison for taking bribes in the amount of more than 34 million rubles, RAPSI has learnt in the Investigative Committee’s press service.

According to investigators, in 2016-2017, Fedorov repeatedly received bribes for common protection and connivance in the line of duty. In total, he took more than 34 million rubles (over $450,000) in bribes, the statement reads.

The court found that Fedorov facilitated the procedures of customs control of shipments expedited through the company Dalzavod-Terminal, discharge of the company clients’ goods from the border of the Eurasian Economic Union without custom screening and committed other actions in favor of the bribegivers.
