MOSCOW, October 20 (RAPSI) – The Moscow Commercial Court has attached assets worth over 85 billion rubles ($1 billion) owned by Mikail Shishkhanov, ex-president of Binbank and owner of Rost Bank, and three other bankers, according to court records.

The court has therefore granted an application filed by the Bank Otkritie.

Earlier, the Moscow Commercial Court distrained property worth 283.8 billion rubles (about $4 billion) belonging to Shishkhanov and three other bankers, Kirill Lyubentsov, Alexander Lukin and Alexey Farafontov,  upon a request of Russia’s Central Bank. The hearing of a claim to recover the funds is set for November 9.

In September, the court seized assets of the same persons amounting to 306.5 billion rubles as part of an application of the National bank Trust.

In October 2017, the Central Bank approved a plan of participation in taking steps to prevent insolvency of Binbank, including increase of authorized capital of the bank and granting funds for maintenance of the organization’s liquidity.
