Woman sentenced to 7 years behind bars for babynap from Kemerovo maternity clinic
MOSCOW, August 10 (RAPSI) – The Central District Court of Russia’s Kemerovo has jailed a 42-year woman living in a neighboring town to 7 years in penal colony for kidnapping from a local maternity hospital, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
According to the case papers, in October 2019, the defendant came to the clinic, entered a ward took a baby from a bed when a mother was absent and left the hospital. Later, the child’s father released his kid. The woman pleaded not guilty. The accused said she found the baby on a bench.
The hospital’s access control chief was fined 10,000 rubles ($135) for negligence, the statement reads.
