MOSCOW, December 5 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court will announce sentence against ex-lawmaker of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Nikolay Rudkovsky, who stands charged with attacks against Russian diplomatic offices in 2014 and 2016, on December 9, RAPSI reports from the courtroom.

Prosecutors earlier demanded a 6-year prison sentence for Rudkovsky.

The case is heard under a special procedure, without examining evidence, as the defendant has signed a plea deal.

Rudkovsky was arrested in September 2018. He is in detention now.

According to investigation, on June 14, 2014, the accused, acting in conspiracy with a group of people, took part in the destruction of property belonging to the Russian embassy.

Moreover, he was allegedly involved in the 2016 March attack against Russia’s Consulate General in Lviv and desecration of Russian national flag. Damage caused to the diplomatic office was estimated at 14 million rubles (about $220,000 at the current exchange rate).
