ST. PETERSBURG, October 29 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – A prosecutor asked court to give a 7-year suspended sentence to ex-deputy director of the Property Fund of St. Petersburg Ilya Zhinkin, who stands charged with bribery and money laundering, RAPSI learnt from the United press service of St. Petersburg courts on Tuesday.

Additionally, the prosecutor demanded to impose a 3.7-million-ruble (about $60,000) fine on him and prohibit him from holding certain posts for 10 years.

During the trial, Zhinkin pleaded guilty to all charges. Two other defendants, deputy director of the fund’s lower organization Alexander Ivanov and businessman Sergey Solopov, pleaded guilty to mediation in bribery. The prosecutor also asked suspended terms for them.

According to case papers, Zhinkin extorted over 1.5 million rubles from an entrepreneur through Ivanov and Solopov.
