MOSCOW, June 21 (RAPSI) – Charges of bribetaking have been brought against Yevgeny Zhirkov, the head of the Moscow Region’s Pushkino municipal district, the Investigative Committee’s press service reports.

According to investigators, in 2015, Zhirkov acting as a head of another Moscow Region’s town Balashikha, received nonresidential premises with a total area of 1,000 square meters in an apartment building under construction from its developer for repeated extension of the object’s substantial completion date and general protection.

Zhirkov was arrested on Friday. Searches were conducted in his premises. Investigators filed a motion with court to place the official in detention.
