MOSCOW, March 22 (RAPSI, Kirill Ryabchikov) – The Moscow City Court on Friday extended for three months detention of ex- owner of Moscow’s confectionary Menshevik Ilya Averyanov as part of a case over shooting on the factory’s premises resulted in the death of a guard, RAPSI reported from the courtroom.

The defendant, who stands charged with murder, will therefore stay detained until June 28.

According to investigators, on December 27, 2017, a conflict arose between former and current owners of the factory. Ex-owner Averyanov allegedly took out the gun and shot several times, fatally wounding a guard. 

The defendant insisted that he used the gun for the purposes of self-defense, and a shot was fired recklessly.
