MOSCOW, February 21 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Presnensky District Court in 2018 granted eight claims filed by customers seeking 450,000 rubles (about $7,000) in compensation from Apple Rus, Russia’s subsidiary of the U.S. corporation, for nonoperating smartphones, the court’s press service has told RAPSI.

According to case papers, plaintiffs have bought Apple phones with a 1-year guarantee period and a 5-year service life. However, they have mentioned, smartphones have gone wrong within the guarantee time limit. Examinations have showed that the phones have packed up because of a manufacturing fault.

The customers attempted to settle the dispute with the producer amicably but failed. Therefore, the court considered their lawsuits and granted them.

Currently, 10 more lawsuits against Apple Rus are pending in Moscow’s Presnensky District Court.
