MOSCOW, February 21 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Presnensky District Court has placed Sergey Gribinyuchenko, ex-head of the Moscow Region’s Pushkino District suspected of receiving bribes, in detention until April 18, RAPSI correspondent has reported.

The hearing has been held behind closed doors.

According to investigators, on February 18, the official received $20,000 as a bribe from a person acting under the police control in one of the Moscow Region’s mall. The illegal gratification was geared up for the protection of one of firms during execution of municipal contracts signed with the Pushkino Distrist’s administration.

Gribinyuchenko was arrested after taking the bribe.

Currently, Gribinyuchenko is acting mayor of Dzerzhinsky town in the Moscow Region.
