MOSCOW, September 28 (RAPSI) – Investigators have filed a motion seeking to put Radzhab Abdulatipov, the brother of ex-head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov and lawmaker of the republic’s People's Assembly, in detention, a statement published on the Investigative Committee’s Twitter account reads.

According to Russia’s Investigative Committee, Abdulatipov is suspected of participation in a criminal gang. The gang members allegedly took bribes for illegal disability confirmation for citizens. Moreover, they were involved in forgery, investigators stated.

If convicted, Abdulatipov could face up to 10 years in prison.

Earlier, the chief of the republican medical and social assessment service Magomed Makhachev was arrested as part of the case.
