MOSCOW, August 17 (RAPSI) - Yelena Odnovol, an activist of the All-Russian civic movement Volunteers of Victory, has received a 3-year suspended sentence in Ukraine, the press service of Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner Tatiana Moskalkova has told RAPSI.

Moskalkova has conferred by telephone with the Ukrainian ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova, who told her about the court ruling. Odnovol will be released from detention soon, Moskalkova’s press service said.

According to the Ukrainian ombudsman, Odnovol has pleaded guilty. However, Denisova said nothing about the essence of charges against the activist, the statement reads.

Earlier, the Russian ombudsman repeatedly urged to release pregnant Odnovol.

In late April, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General announced arrest of Odnovol. Reportedly, the woman was charged with treason, subversive activities causing damage to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
