MOSCOW, August 8 (RAPSI) – Russia’s child rights ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova said on Wednesday that the total number of crimes against minors had dropped, according to the results of 2017.

However, the rate of sexual abuse of children increased, she noted during her speech at the Territory of Meanings on Klyazma River National Educational Youth Forum.

According to the children’s rights commissioner, in 2017, the total number of crimes against minors decreased by %56.5 while the number of sex crimes against minors rose by 9.2%.
