ST. PETERSBURG, June 19 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – The Pushkinsky District Court of St. Petersburg has fined 35,000 rubles (about $550) a local resident Aleksey Rykalin for stealing a Maine Coon cat from an exhibition hall, the Unified press service of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region courts has told RAPSI. 

According to investigators, Rykalin stole the cat valued at 80,000 rubles ($1,300) in April. The 29-year old resident of Pushkin town was arrested, and the animal, which was found in his apartment, was returned to its owner. 

Rykalin pleaded guilty and was sorry for his actions.
