ST. PETERSBURG, June 5 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – A criminal case against a Russian citizen charged with stealing a Maine Coon cat from an exhibition hall has been sent to the Pushkinsky District Court of St. Petersburg for hearing, the local prosecutor’s office has told RAPSI.

According to investigators, in April, an exhibition visitor stole the cat valued at 80,000 rubles ($1,300).

The 29-year old resident of the Leningrad Region was arrested, and the animal, which was found in his apartment, was returned to its owner, the statement reads.

The defendant has pleaded guilty in full.
