MOSCOW, May 18 (RAPSI) – Russian investigators had initiated two criminal cases against Hugo Gurdon, the Editorial Director of Washington Examiner, and journalist Tom Rogan over a publication calling for blowing up the newly opened bridge to Crimea, Svetlana Petrenko, the Investigative Committee’s spokeswoman, said on Friday.

According to Petrenko, Gurdon and Rogan are accused of spreading terrorist propaganda, i.e. conducting efforts to disseminate materials and information aimed to make a person embrace terrorist ideology and accept permissibility of carrying out terrorist attacks.

Investigators could establish that Gurdon published an article by Tom Rogan under the headline Ukraine Should Blow Up Putin's Crimea Bridge, in which, law enforcement officials believe, the author urges Ukraine to blow up the bridge by bombing it.

Investigation is currently underway, according to Petrenko.
