MOSCOW, April 12 (RAPSI) – Investigators have filed a motion seeking detention of Aleksey Nashchekin, the former deputy CEO of Russian major Internet provider Rostelecom, who stands charged with accessory in abuse of authority, the spokesperson of Moscow’s Basmanny District Court Yunona Tsareva has told RAPSI.

According to media reports, from 2010 to 2013, the defendant acted as Rostelecom deputy director general of federal programs. Later, he was responsible for technological development of electronic toll collection system Platon. In 2015, he established the National Telematic Systems company engaged in developing information systems for transport.

Nashchekin was reportedly arrested as part of a case against CEO of AT Consulting information technology company Sergey Shilov charged with incitement to abuse of office.

Shilov has allegedly attempted to persuade the Interior Ministry’s Chief Structural Engineer Andrey Nechayev to give him a right to execute a 1.4-billion-ruble government contract (about $25 million) and pay a contractor the work in progress.
