MOSCOW, April 3 (RAPSI) – Investigators have uncovered the whole chain of persons involved in the St. Petersburg metro terrorist attack committed a year ago, on April 3, 2017, the Investigative Committee’s press service reports Tuesday.

Investigators have identified organizers and actual perpetrators of the crime in cooperation with the Federal Security Service (FSB), the statement reads.

According to investigators, the terror attack was carried out by members of a radical Islamic community, who even were not acquainted with each other and communicated through a messenger. They were found due to analysis of the so called electronic traces. 

Investigation is practically completed. Eleven people were charged and put in detention.

On April 3, 2017, at around 2:40 PM Moscow time, an unknown device exploded in a train between St. Petersburg metro stations Technological Institute and Sennaya Ploshchad. As a result of the attack, 16 people died in the blast including suicide bomber Akbarzhon Dzhalilov, over 50 were wounded.
