MOSCOW, February 28 (RAPSI) – A criminal case has been launched against deputy head of the Interior Ministry’s directorate for Krasnoyarsk Region Alexander Kuznetsov on suspicion of abuse of office resulted in heavy consequences, the Investigative Committee’s press service reported through its Telegram channel.

Another defendant in the case is former deputy chief of Support Services Andrey Petruchenya, the statement reads.

According to investigators, in late 2012, Kuznetsov and Petruchenya signed work acceptance protocol for construction of a temporary detention facility in the city of Norilsk and received over 200 million rubles (about $3.5 million) on this basis. However, the detention center has not built yet.

Searches are being conducted in the Interior Ministry’s regional directorate.
