Ex-Russian senator fined $8,500 for shooting at Moscow hotel
MOSCOW, November 22 (RAPSI) – The former member of Russia’s Federation Council, the upper house of parliament, Umar Dzhabrailov on Wednesday was fined 500,000 rubles ($8,500) for shooting at one of Moscow’s hotels, RAPSI learnt in the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow.
A prosecutor demanded a 2-year suspended sentence for Dzhabrailov. Defense asked the court to impose a fine on ex-senator.
According to investigators, on August 29, 2017, Dzhabrailov started shooting at a hotel in central Moscow. There were no injuries in the incident. The former senator was arrested. He pleaded guilty.
