Russian ex-investigator sentenced to 8 years for taking $50,000 bribe
MOSCOW, September 27 (RAPSI, Lyudmila Klenko) – The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has sentenced former senior investigator for particularly important cases, Alexander Sorokin, to 8 years in a high security penal colony for receiving $50,000 bribe, press-service of the Moscow city prosecutor’s office stated on Wednesday.
Sorokin admitted guilt in full.
The court found out that ex-investigator received $50,000 from a lawyer for conducting several procedures related to a criminal case under his supervision. Sorokin was detained on December 1 of 2016 after receiving the bribe.
