MOSCOW, September 6 (RAPSI, Lyudmila Klenko) – Deputy CEO of Gazpromneft-Hantos, a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft oil company, has been placed in detention in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area in a 23-million-ruble embezzlement case (about $400,500), the Investigative Committee’s regional department announced on Wednesday.

Investigators claim that Gazpromneft-Hantos allocated money for release of young sturgeons into Siberian rivers in 2015. During the agreement conclusion, the company’s managers were misled, and the funds in the amount of 23 million rubles were embezzled.

According to investigation, an employee of the Federal Fishery Agency, a businessman, who was to provide the supply of sturgeons, and two other persons are involved in embezzlement.

The Gazprom Neft subsidiary’s executives cooperate with investigators in the case, the statement reads.
