MOSCOW, September 5 (RAPSI) – The Moscow office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has launched a case against Metro Cash & Carry over advertisement of alcohol containing more than 5% of ethanol, the watchdog announced on Tuesday.

According to the watchdog, the company advertised alcoholic products through a catalog distributed by postal mailing and texting.

The advertisement of these goods may be disclosed only in standing retail facilities where they are sold including tasting rooms, the statement reads.

However, Metro Cash & Carry distributed controversial advertising out of the bounds of places permitted by law, the FAS stated.
