MOSCOW, November 23 (RAPSI) – Czech authorities received on Wednesday requests from the U.S. and Russia for the extradition of alleged Russian hacker Yevgeny Nikulin, RIA Novosti reported Wednesday.

If both requests reach court, they will be considered, the agency quoted the Prague City Court’s representative as having said. However, the final decision will rest with the Republic’s Justice Minister.

As previously reported, Czech police in cooperation with FBI arrested a Russian national suspected of cyber attacks on targets in the U.S. on October 5.

The arrest of a Russian citizen was conducted by Czech authorities at the request of a court in one of the U.S. states, the Russian embassy’s representative Aleksey Kolmakov said earlier.

The Russian embassy makes all possible efforts to defend the suspect in cooperation with his lawyer, according to Kolmakov. “We insist that the arrested man should be turned over to Russia,” he added.
