ST. PETERSBURG, August 1 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg has ordered to block access to the “Mirotvorets” website that lists personal data of Russian citizens, who allegedly have or are still fighting in Ukraine, RAPSI learned in the courtroom on Monday.

The list in question also contains information about journalists working in self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People Republics.

The court has found that the information published on the website violates the federal legislation on personal data protection and ordered Roskomnadzor, the Russian Internet watchdog agency, to block access to the website.

According to the case materials, in the course of a compliance check with regard to the Federal Law “On Personal Data” there was found a web site granting open access to a list of Russian nationals, who, as the administrators of the site alleged, had taken part in fighting in Ukraine.

“The list contains dates of birth, cell numbers, photos, education establishments, job sites, duty stations of Russian nationals published on the web site without their permission,” – a Prosecutor’s Office representative said.

As per the Federal Law “On Personal Data” illegal dissimination of citizens’ personal data on Internet violates their rights and freedoms, including the right to privacy.
