MOSCOW, May 24 (RAPSI) – A court ruling to place people accused of any crime may be contested by their neighbors, according to Plenum of Russia’s Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court ruled that people are entitled to appeal against the court decision to put their neighbor involved in a criminal case under house arrest if such decision affects their rights and legal interests.

Earlier, courts considered that neighbors and relatives of an individual placed under house arrest are not competent to file appeals against such restrictive measure.
