ST. PETERSBURG, April 14 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – Investigators from St. Petersburg have transferred a criminal case against former detective, who is charged with murder of a local resident at police department, to a court, RAPSI learned on Tuesday in the Investigative Committee’s local department.

According to investigators, ex-head detective of the 26th police precinct for St. Petersburg Krasnogvardeisky District, Andrei Artemiev, murdered local resident, Dmitry Demidov, in his own cabinet at the police department on November 11 last year.

Allegedly Artemiev was in a state of alcoholic intoxication in his cabinet when Demidov was escorted to the detective for interrogation. Investigative expertise concluded that during the interrogation Artemiev’s gun was shot which resulted in Demidov’s death. Investigators allege that head detective murdered a victim out of personal hatred while Artemiev claims that the shot was accidental.

This case is going to be reviewed by the St. Petersburg City Court.
