MOSCOW, March 28 (RAPSI, Lyudmila Klenko) – The Supreme Court of Russia has upheld the sentences for members of Lyubertsy organized criminal group from the Moscow Region convicted of murders and robberies, press-service of the court told RAPSI on Monday.

Earlier the Moscow Regional Court sentenced seven members of the group to various terms in prison. Mikhail Mikhailov and Andrei Gumnikov received life sentences, Sergei Shipantsev was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison, Mikhail Gomigyn - to 9 years, Igor Levikyn and Pavel Matveev – to 15 years, Gennadiy Blalshov – to 24 years. Convicts have also been ordered to pay large sum fines.

According to investigators, in 2004 Mikhailov organized a criminal group in Lyubertsy focusing on robberies and murders, including contract kills. In 4 years criminals conducted seven murders and a spree of robberies.
