MOSCOW, September 3 (RAPSI) – A man accused of killing a Russian concert pianist in Manchester has appeared in a British court, BBC has reported.

According to BBC, John Martin is charged with murder of Natalia Strelchenko , a prominent Russian musician. He has also been charged with an attempt to murder a 14-years old teenager. Martin, a victim's partner, is to appear before city's crown court on Friday.

Martin was a partner of Strelchenko, according to Manchester Evening News. Emergency crews were called to musician's home on Sunday. They reported serious injuries to victim's head later proved to be fatal.

Natalia Strelchenko, known as Natalia Strelle, was a world-class classical pianist of Russian origin. Her family's statement regarding her death reads: "Natalia was a talented, beautiful, much loved mother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed."
