MOSCOW, April 24 (RAPSI) – The Lefortovsky District Court of Moscow on Thursday released Konstantin Lebedev who has been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for organizing mass riots on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow on May 6, 2012, on parole, RAPSI reports from the courtroom .

Lebedev was convicted on April 25, 2013. He pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with the investigation.

Over 400 people were arrested and scores injured in the Bolotnaya Square protest that turned violent in May 2012. Dozens were later charged with inciting mass riots and using violence against law enforcement officers.

The case against Udaltsov and Razvozzhayev was initiated after the "Anatomy of Protest" film was shown on the NTVnetwork. The film claimed that the opposition was organizing a coup using funds from abroad and featured purported audio evidence of Udaltsov and his companions allegedly talking with Givi Targamadze, who at the time headed Georgia's Parliamentary Defense and Security Committee, and is said to have been involved in planning the "color" revolutions in Georgia and Ukraine, as well as mass riots in Belarus.
